We invited the island to come and celebrate the potato. We served ten dishes all made from the recipes the people of Stokkoya had given to us. It was a magic evening.

The book ‘Våre poteter’ (Our potatoes) is a collection of 43 potato recipes collected on Stokkøya. You can borrow it from Åfjord Library, Central St. Martin’s Library and Falmouth Library.

We placed a small box at Coop. Here you could have one of the books for free. It was emptied the next day. Rumours had gotten around. It was a very popular book..

And should you ever come to Stokkøya, go to Coop and ask for the secret coffee room, where local folks have their morning coffee. Sit down by the window and think of all the people who have grown their potatoes and passed their recipes on from one generation to the next…
